The one year IMBA degree course includes  all the key subjects / topics covered in 2 years of a traditional MBA program like Marketing , Finance , Human Resource Management,  Strategy, Operations and Project Management, Creativity and Business Research . The one year degree course is a fast paced , intensive program aimed at making students industry ready in a year’s duration. To prepare the students for the rigor of the one year course, Podar World College runs  a  foundation course empowering  students with basic understanding of different management subjects (as mentioned above). The foundation course delivery is in form of lectures and workshops.

The IMBA degree course will develop student’s knowledge of key business functions and their relationship with the wider strategic and international environment.  The course tests the conceptual understanding of theoretical frameworks by  thoroughly designed range of assessments including presentations , reports, interviews and case study.  The assessments are planned , designed and structured  to test the key learning objectives of every module in the course. The  module assessments required detailed primary / secondary research , interviews, surveys etc.

IMBA degree is a  UK quality assured degree.  All higher Education (HE) courses in England are monitored by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

Students will experience a variety of learning activities, which will support the achievement of the module learning outcomes. Learning will involve both classroom engagement and out of classroom activities (Industry Visits / Corporate Interactions). Students will encounter number of learning activities during a variety of formal lectures, seminars and tutorials. Faculty make use of   of case studies, problem-solving activities, discussions (both structured and unstructured.  Students will be expected, and directed, to read from a range of sources, including academic journals. In addition to Module Faculty sessions , there will be sessions taken by industry experts covering key developments in the industry.

No sessions will be held at UK Campus. However students have the opportunity to  be a part of the week long  University of Wolverhampton study tour where they can have firsthand experience of attending sessions from the university professors and interact with the teaching and non teaching staff. Also there are regular visits from University of Wolverhampton Professors  to do live assignment unpacking and module guidance. There are also Skype interactions for modules where students get  a opportunity to interact with the respective module leaders and resolve any queries about the assignment or the module in general.

  • Global Marketing Strategy and Practice: The module considers the contemporary approaches to digital and international marketing and how these can be put in to practice.
  • Contemporary Issues in International HRM: Students will be encouraged to join in debates about national and multinational culture, employee, managerial behaviour and International labour market.
  • Managing Financial Performance: This module will help understanding and critically reviewing financial performances in business and corporates enables students to make well informed decisions based upon a sound knowledge of financial reports, systems and developments in the accounting and financial environment.
  • Strategic Business Planning: The module will provide an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs, managers and leaders to think strategically, and select and apply appropriate practical strategic tools and techniques.
  • Entrepreneurial Change Agent. In this module you will experience the variety of learning activities.
  • Operations and Project Management: The module focuses on how firms achieve competitive advantage through improving the processes (supply chain management) involved in delivering products and services in your entrepreneurial setups or corporates.
  • Independent Business Analysis Project: The aim of the module is to contribute substantially to research training that is appropriate for and relevant for future careers in professional, business management roles. To achieve this, the student is required to produce of a piece of original work (a yearlong dissertation), at an advanced level, based on independent research on a topic of your choice.

Apart from the modules listed above, Podar World College will conduct additional sessions on contemporary industry topics at regular intervals. These are in form of lectures , seminars , workshops etc. Students are encouraged to suggest  topics of their interest.

There are no specialization options in the IMBA degree course. However students are encouraged  / given adequate guidance to share their area of interest among various management domains like marketing / finance / human resources etc. Based on the interest expressed and detailed discussion with respective domain faculty , necessary guidance / sessions /  resources will be provided to the students to hone their area of interest.

Yes.  IMBA students have multiple opportunities to work on live projects. Ex. Live International Marketing project provided by the University of Wolverhampton to do market research across different industries. Also students are encouraged / guided to link their dissertation topics to the specific industry issues and provide appropriate recommendations post  a detailed research. All the modules are research oriented and students can carry out live projects in their areas of interest.

Podar World College has a dedicated placement cell headed by Placement Officer. Live projects / internship / job opportunities are shared with students based on their areas of interest . In addition , placement officer / conducts grooming sessions on the weekly basis to  prepare students for the interviews and corporate interaction. CV writing , Mock Interviews (technical + soft skill) , Presentation Skills , Personality Development, Etiquettes training and various other soft skill trainings are provided by Podar World College.

The course has 3 trimesters. First 2 trimesters are dedicated to complete 6 Modules. Independent Business Analysis Project (Dissertation) module goes on through the entire duration of the course.

7MG001 – Independent Business Analysis Project (Year long dissertation project)

Student assessment is in form of reports / presentations / case study  as per the university requirements and  the module specifications. Before the final university submissions , students are given opportunities for formative feedback. Formative feedback enables students to improve on their draft report and aim for higher scores.

The University of Wolverhampton (UK) will award the degree upon successful completion of the 1 year full time program.
